Reading Don Quixote for the second time actually gave me a different view on the story. At first when I was reading it back during the summer I thought that this guy was really crazy and that the curiosity in me as to why does Father Mabanta keep bringing it up last year. Now, I realized. After months, I realized that I misjudged the book all along. Yes, Don Quixote may experience a mid-life crisis as to Maxine said but it's as if he only did those things to make a difference; to keep the spirit of chivalry alive. As young ladies, we expect to meet a guy who would show great chivalry in order to capture our hearts. I admittedly agree but that's beside the point with which Don Quixote wanted to set an example to the others in order to re-live chivalry. Although, he may do it into such extent that he would fight windmills in thought of giants, entrust a greedy man to take oath of chivalry when obviously the greedy man would not follow and a lot more. In the end, I learned that no matter what era may be, chivalry should always be observed by many; not only by the elderly but by the youth as well. Another lesson I learned is that literature could not only capture the reader's minds but their soul and heart. many can be moved by these literary works but we should all be careful on what we read for we might be believing on some false facts and concepts.
